Bringing the Theatre to Coxhill Manor for Easter

On Easter Saturday on 15th April, ‘Carousel Theatre’ bought the experience of live theatre straight to our residents in the comfort of their home at Coxhill Manor in Woking, Surrey.

We were treated to an ‘Easter Show’ performed by two professional actors and bought to life by costumes galore, music, jokes and plenty of songs to sing-a-long too. Our residents loved it.

Our local vicar Chris Bedford was warmly welcomed on Easter Sunday as he gave an Easter Communion Service in the conservatory. Well over 20 residents attended the service.  We are always so grateful to Chris and his continuing service and commitment to Coxhill Manor.  It is much appreciated by us all.

Bank Holiday Easter Monday was a fun filled family affair at our home…

Activity Coordinator Julia organized the traditional Easter Egg Hunt in the gardens of Coxhill Manor, followed by an Easter ‘Arts and Crafts’ session in the conservatory.

Over a dozen children came to join in the fun with resident’s grandchildren, great grandchildren and colleague’s children too. The morning kicked off in excitement as the children searched the gardens for the chocolate Easter Eggs.  There were plenty of eggs to go around so all was well!

The ‘Arts and Crafts’ session in the conservatory began when all the eggs were found and it focused on making Easter masks and crowns.  Lots of brightly coloured decorations filled the tables so it was a very visual affair too.

The Children bring a vibrancy and energy into Coxhill that is infectious and the positive effect on our residents of the young children having fun with them and around them is immense.  The conservatory was bursting with smiles and laughter. Julia said

“Just the smiles on everybody’s faces made all the hard work worthwhile.”

It is days like these that really do reinforce a sense of belonging and highlight the fact that we are just one big family and we love it.

On behalf of all of us at Coxhill, huge thanks to Julia for all her hard work in preparing, organising and delivering such a fantastic day.

And that’s not all… Julia also made some beautiful Easter Basket table decorations with the residents using fresh flowers and painted eggs, giving the dining areas that eggstra special Easter touch.
