Brightening a rainy day at Wytham

The residents at Wytham House care home in Famoor made the most of a rainy day this week.

With Saturday being a complete wash out, activities coordinator Liza and the residents were eager to brighten the day. As Liza said ‘Good Morning’ to everyone, she sat alongside three of Residents whilst they had their breakfast and joined in with the discussions at the table. One resident, Nora, pointed out that she thought the walls should be brightened up especially with it being so grey outside. The reason behind this was a previous activities session where residents created their own wall art and Nora thought it would be a great idea to do something for the dining room.

The residents and Liza put their heads together and decided it would be fun to find out some interesting facts that could be a talking point when they are sat at the dining table. They set about on a fact finding mission using the Activities laptop, and printing off their favourite fact posters and sayings. They then carefully laminated and displayed them in pride of place around the dining room. These will provide plenty of discussions moving forward, and they are now all thinking up what they can do with the other two rooms.
