Bradbury are bowled over at Namco

Residents at Bradbury House in Braintree went bowling at Namco’s in Braintree Freeport today.

Although it is a wet and cold time of the year it doesn’t mean the residents can’t enjoy a trip out. It was a short trip to the venue but Elsie, Stan, Murial and Joan thoroughly enjoyed it, a breath of fresh air and a chance to be out in the community doing things that everyone else gets the chance to do.

Namco is a great place to visit for the residents because it is geared for those in wheel chairs with ramps throughout, and also the special frames for bowling enables the residents to roll the ball on their own providing them with a real sense of achievement.

The laughter, talking and light exercise that is gained on days like today is a brilliant way to improve mental well being and creating new memories together.

They all had a great time and the scores were very close, so close we didn’t want to call a winner.

Bradbury House provides residential care in a 17th Century converted building for up to 20 elderly people.
