It’s Blooming Marvellous at Hulcott

At Hulcott nursing home in Aylesbury, one of our team members Stefka, has a real passion and art for flower arranging and she certainly steals the show with her beautiful floral arrangements.

Hulcott is usually abloom with her stunning floral creations which are placed all around the home for everyone to enjoy and are constantly remarked upon by residents and visitors alike. They are just so visual and really bring a real sense of the outside into the home. Depending on the flowers she uses, our home is also full of their heady scent which evokes a lot of memories for many of our residents. For those who are visually challenged it is also another great way of stimulating their senses.

Stefka has been employed at Hulcott for about three years as a domestic assistant but as she is so passionate about making our home a beautiful environment for our residents as well as for the team, she goes over and above her work duties to make the home shine and she does.

When no flowers are available, Stefka can be found in the garden foraging for suitable foliage to make her arrangements and to keep our home blooming marvellous.

We are very proud of all our team here at Hulcott nursing home. They all go over and above their roles to ensure our home is a great place to live and our residents get the best level of care.

A recent report by the Care Quality Commission (CQC) highlighted that

“People were supported by staff who provided caring and compassionate care.”

Other comments included, “The caring in this home is very good indeed… “The staff are absolutely excellent, they’re excellent at all times.”

Feedback given to the CQC after the inspection included, “The home has a friendly atmosphere and feels homely and caring and a happy place to be.”
“Calm and friendly and the atmosphere is really nice.”

So thank you Stefka and to every member of our home for making our home such a great environment in which to live.

Coronavirus (COVID-19) Update
To Whom it may concern,

RE: A message from the CEO and Clinical Director

At Caring Homes we are following the latest Government advice and stopping visitors to all our homes, except for essential visits by healthcare professionals who will be required to adhere to strict protocols.

We understand that this may be very difficult for families but we are clear in our duty to ensure we protect the health, safety and wellbeing of our Residents and Colleagues as our top priority.

We want you to know that you can contact your loved ones through calls, emails, video and social media and we will support our Residents to view any messages you send over. We are confident that the teams in our homes are doing all they can to ensure that life remains as comfortable and sociable as possible. There will be a full programme of activities delivered by our in-house health and wellbeing teams.

We hope you will understand and support these actions and any further subsequent measures we might need to put in place.

Yours sincerely
