Beechwood Park wins two top awards

Team members from Caring Homes’ seven Scottish care homes gathered together at Marchglen Care Centre in Fishcross, this month for the company’s Scottish Recognition Awards.

Colleagues, residents and relatives were asked to nominate across nine categories: Nurse of the Year, Nurse Newcomer, Care & Support, Care Newcomer, Meaningful Activities, Nutrition/Eating Well., Management/Leadership, Specialist Adult Care and Support Services.

Two of these coveted awards went to colleagues at Beechwood Park in Clackmannanshire, Alloa. Nurse of the Year went to Laura Hartley and Lee Haggart was presented with the Care and Support Award.

Lee was praised by those who nominated him as kind, honest and trustworthy, a caring person and dedicated to his work. Laura is now deputy manager at Beechwood Park after having her leadership potential recognised by her colleagues. “She is very hands on and loved by her residents and staff team,” said one nomination.

Scotland Regional Manager for Caring Homes Jackie Morrison said; “These awards give us the opportunity to celebrate excellence in Scotland and the high calibre of the homes and colleagues we have working here. Everyone who was nominated deserve a special mention, as do all of those who have put in 10,15, or 20 years’ service with us.”

Beechwood Park is a modern purpose-built home offering a full range of nursing and dementia support – including trial stays, short stay and convalescent care, as well as long-term care – for up to 62 elderly people. Beechwood Park is ideally equipped to provide nursing support for elderly people living with different types of dementia – including Alzheimer’s disease, vascular dementia and Korsakoff’s syndrome.

Long service awards for 10, 15 and 20 years were also presented at the awards event by Caring Homes Group Chief Executive Paul Jeffery.
