Beaumont Villa Care Team in line for National Dementia Care Award

Beaumont Villa care home in St Peter has been shortlisted for a National Dementia Care Award. The home is one of just five finalists from across the UK in line for the accolade of Best Dementia Team.

The award is made to ‘the dementia-focused team which has developed and maintained a superb standard of care within any care facility’. Finalist interviews will be taking place in London on 10th October with the winners announced at a gala dinner on 3rd November.

Beaumont Villa’s friendly team comprises Home Manager, Nurses, Senior Carers and Carers, Activities Coordinators, Catering, Hospitality and Maintenance teams, all dedicated to providing high quality person-centred dementia care for 24 elderly residents.

The villa is a specialised purpose-built house within the grounds of L’Hermitage care home. Care is provided in small homely units, decorated to resemble the homes of the residents’ era with accessories such as standard lamps and flickering fires to help them feel settled.

Colette Bonner, Home Manager at Beaumont Villa, says:

“We are very pleased to be shortlisted for the award. It’s a fantastic achievement to be in the top five in the country. Everyone here works exceptionally hard to give outstanding care for people living with different types of dementia. To us it’s not just a job, it’s a way of life and our residents are happy in their individual worlds because of it.

“The focus is entirely on the residents, their lives previously and incorporating significance into their daily lives now.”

Coronavirus (COVID-19) Update
To Whom it may concern,

RE: A message from the CEO and Clinical Director

At Caring Homes we are following the latest Government advice and stopping visitors to all our homes, except for essential visits by healthcare professionals who will be required to adhere to strict protocols.

We understand that this may be very difficult for families but we are clear in our duty to ensure we protect the health, safety and wellbeing of our Residents and Colleagues as our top priority.

We want you to know that you can contact your loved ones through calls, emails, video and social media and we will support our Residents to view any messages you send over. We are confident that the teams in our homes are doing all they can to ensure that life remains as comfortable and sociable as possible. There will be a full programme of activities delivered by our in-house health and wellbeing teams.

We hope you will understand and support these actions and any further subsequent measures we might need to put in place.

Yours sincerely

Paul Jeffery – Chief Executive Officer

Frank Cummins – Clinical Director
