Award-Winning Chef is developing our menus at Benson House
Food in My World is accredited by City and Guilds and is designed to inspire chefs to understand dementia friendly food. It is primarily focused on chefs/catering teams to enable them to have the necessary tools in adapting to the challenges faced by people living with dementia as well as motivating the learner to explore further their creative skills in providing meaningful mealtime experiences.
The core concepts of the training are based on understanding dementia and how this is related to food and drinks. The chefs will learn about preferences, routines, likes, dislikes, and how dementia can affect the perception of food. Food in My World will upskill colleagues across the hospitality team to stimulate senses and increase creativity in the cooking and presentation of food providing a much-improved dining experience for residents living with Dementia and or Dysphagia.
