Award for Senior Carer at Scoonie House

Team members from our seven Scottish care homes gathered together at Marchglen Care Centre in Fishcross, this month for the company’s Scottish Recognition Awards.

It is the third year that the awards have been held and colleagues, residents and relatives were asked to nominate across nine categories: Nurse of the Year, Nurse Newcomer, Care & Support, Care Newcomer, Meaningful Activities, Nutrition/Eating Well., Management/Leadership, Specialist Adult Care and Support Services.

A top award went to Senior Carer Donna Devlin, who has been part of the team in Scotland and at Scoonie House for ten years. Donna also received her long service award.

Donna is described in her nominations as an asset to Caring Homes and as someone who is knowledgeable, approachable and who has consistently high standards. She shares her knowledge with the team and is a moving and handling trainer at Scoonie House.

Managing Director Tracey Fletcher-Ray presented the recognition awards as well as long service awards for 10, 15 and 20 years. More than 30 long service presentations were made re-presenting more than 370 years of service by colleagues in Scotland.

Tracey said; “It is fantastic to be able to recognise these achievements and all the great work which is done by Caring Homes in Scotland.”

Coronavirus (COVID-19) Update
To Whom it may concern,

RE: A message from the CEO and Clinical Director

At Caring Homes we are following the latest Government advice and stopping visitors to all our homes, except for essential visits by healthcare professionals who will be required to adhere to strict protocols.

We understand that this may be very difficult for families but we are clear in our duty to ensure we protect the health, safety and wellbeing of our Residents and Colleagues as our top priority.

We want you to know that you can contact your loved ones through calls, emails, video and social media and we will support our Residents to view any messages you send over. We are confident that the teams in our homes are doing all they can to ensure that life remains as comfortable and sociable as possible. There will be a full programme of activities delivered by our in-house health and wellbeing teams.

We hope you will understand and support these actions and any further subsequent measures we might need to put in place.

Yours sincerely

Paul Jeffery – Chief Executive Officer

Frank Cummins – Clinical Director
