Annual summer fete a success again at Walstead Place

Lindfield based Walstead Place care home opened its doors to the community once more this week as they held their popular annual summer fete.

The fete, which was officially opened by Councillor Sandy Ellis, the Mayor of Haywards Heath, was attended by many members of the local community and hosted in the picturesque gardens of the 19th Century former country squire’s residence.

Entertainment this year was provided in the form of some chainsaw sculpting and there was the usual array of stalls and homegrown produce on offer. In total, the day raised over £400 towards the residents activity fund.

Walstead Place Manager, Jacquie Ferguson told us:
‘Everyone has had a great time today! It is always wonderful when the community comes together to support these events – it is important to our residents that they remain an active part of the wider community.

I would like to thank all of our staff for their hard work in organising the day, along with everyone who attended including Cllr Sandy Ellis who did us the honour of opening the event.’

Located just a mile from Lindfield, Walstead Place provides residential and nursing care for up to 41 elderly ladies and gentlemen. The home is run by the family-owned Caring Homes group, which was founded by mother and son team Helena and Paul Jeffery in 1994.
