Understanding the care needs of an elderly relative or making the decision yourself that you require more help is both a difficult decision and an emotional one. Finding the right care home to move into when the time comes can also be hard. Our teams are here to guide and help you every step of the way.
Annette has been living at Mill House Care Home in Chipping Campden for three years now. Family members helped Annette to choose Mill House and the experience of moving in was a very pleasant one and she has not looked back!
Mill House provides many lovely spaces, from the welcoming bistro to the well-stocked library, as well as a packed schedule of events and activities including a bridge club and carpet bowls. There are various places to go and explore in the surrounding Cotswolds countryside. If residents prefer to spend one-on-one time with a member of the team, they can read the paper or pop to the shops. The Home has strong connections with the local community, many residents invite them to join in our activities at the Home or run their own sessions here.
Mill House has 45 bedrooms, each with a beautifully appointed ensuite bathroom. Several of the rooms enjoy views of the wonderfully landscaped gardens. It is a purpose-built care home, situated in the heart of the beautiful Cotswolds.
Annette worked in a lady’s outfitters in Leamington Spa before eloping to get married to Ron, an RAF pilot. They had four children - three daughters and one son and when their children were young, they lived in Bahrain. Now they have lots of grandchildren based in Oxford, America and Australia. Annette is a very active resident at Mill House and will partake in nearly all the activities, but particularly loves party theme activities and pamper sessions.
Annette says her secret to a long life is “being happy and sociable”, something she puts into good practice at the home. Her advice to anyone seeking care is to “trust staff to look after your relative and to be patient and understanding”.
