Ann is shortlisted for fulfilling lives award

The activity coordinator at Coppice Lea care home was shortlisted for helping residents to live fulfilling lives at the Caring Homes Group Recognition Awards.

With over 5,500 employees across the group Ann beat off stiff competition to be shortlisted for the Fulfilling Lives Award for Caring Homes.

The awards were presented at a glittering ceremony hosted at the Grove Hotel in Watford and presented by musician and singer Ronan Keating.

Coppice Lea care home in Merstham, Surrey provides residential and nursing care for up to 51 residents. The home, an elegant, converted Victorian house, is set in five acres of landscaped gardens and wooded grounds.

Following a review of over 3,000 nominations received from colleagues and people supported for the awards, Ann was shortlisted for this prestigious award.

Nominations stated that Ann has turned around activities at Coppice Lea to be not just a calendar of events but individualised activities that mean something for each and every resident. Ann has recently developed a dementia friendly garden with sensory areas and a greenhouse which has been well received by the residents.

The judges agreed with one nomination that said; “Ann is loved by the residents. She always has a smile which rubs off on everyone, making Coppice Lea a very happy place to live.”

Attended by over 340 guests the evening was a great occasion, with colleagues and business partners coming together to celebrate the very best care and support provided by outstanding people.

Paul Jeffery, CEO, Caring Homes Group stated; “The Recognition Awards 2017, provided an opportunity to showcase talent, dedication and commitment, as well as demonstrate the crucial role our professionals play in caring for some of the most vulnerable people in our society.

“It’s very important that we celebrate success, from the finalists nominated, to the thousands of our colleagues making a significant contribution to caring for and supporting people all over the UK.”

The event was generously sponsored by Caring Homes Group’s business partners, who together made the event possible.
