Abbeycrest celebrate Mother’s Day in style

Residents, families, friends and staff at Abbeycrest celebrated Mother’s Day together on Sunday 6th March. The day was organised by the Activities Team Coordinator, who ensured everyone was gathered together in the lounge to celebrate the special day with lots of singing and dancing.

Everyone managed to work up a thirst by the end of the afternoon and enjoyed a cup of tea, accompanied by a piece of specially made Mother’s Day cake. All our ‘mums’ then received a flower to end the celebration of a truly special day.

It was lovely to see so many friends and family members celebrating the day at Abbeycrest with our residents. Relatives and friends are always encouraged to visit the home as often as they like and Abbeycrest encourages an open visiting policy, helping residents and loved ones to share visits at times that are convenient for them.

Alison Robison, daughter of one resident said; “Mother’s Day was fantastic! It was a really lovely gesture from all the staff at Abbeycrest. My mum was really very happy with the day and all that you do at Abbeycrest. The singing and dancing from staff was very entertaining and I wish that Dad can also stay with you.”
