A full December for Hulcott

Christmas was in full swing at Hulcott Care Home in Aylesbury, but we didn’t forget about our regular activities.

We had plenty of musical entertainment over the month with Wendy a visiting entertainer who sang, one of our residents was delighted when she sang especially to him which made his day. And Heather, an accomplished flutist, came along to visit her mother, whilst at Hulcott she entertained the residents by playing the flute for them.  Heather was open to all genres of music which the residents thoroughly enjoyed.

Hulcott’s lounge was also transformed into a casino for the afternoon when the chips were out for the residents. Roulette was the name of the game and the residents took pleasure in trying to guess the winning numbers. The afternoon was filled with laughter as the roulette table seemed to be the winner!!

We also celebrated a number of birthdays at Hulcott. Decorations and Birthday cakes were especially baked for the occasions, and didn’t seem to come down.

Baking is another favourite with residents, after watching the Bake Off  they were inspired to bake and decorate their own cakes for afternoon tea. Pink icing was the unanimous decision for the topping together with marshmallows, chocolate drops and stars.

Hulcott Nursing Home provides the highest standards of specialist nursing and residential care for up to 38 elderly people.

Coronavirus (COVID-19) Update
To Whom it may concern,

RE: A message from the CEO and Clinical Director

At Caring Homes we are following the latest Government advice and stopping visitors to all our homes, except for essential visits by healthcare professionals who will be required to adhere to strict protocols.

We understand that this may be very difficult for families but we are clear in our duty to ensure we protect the health, safety and wellbeing of our Residents and Colleagues as our top priority.

We want you to know that you can contact your loved ones through calls, emails, video and social media and we will support our Residents to view any messages you send over. We are confident that the teams in our homes are doing all they can to ensure that life remains as comfortable and sociable as possible. There will be a full programme of activities delivered by our in-house health and wellbeing teams.

We hope you will understand and support these actions and any further subsequent measures we might need to put in place.

Yours sincerely
