Food & Dining
Good food is one of life's simple pleasures, and it should stay that way whatever your age.
At Caring Homes, mealtimes are treated as something to look forward to, not simply fitted around the day. Every home has its own Head Chef, working closely with residents to create menus residents genuinely enjoy, built around real favourites as much as new ideas. Good food, familiar tastes, and company to share it with all come together here, so mealtimes become something to look forward to with friends and new acquaintances.
For many residents, rediscovering that pleasure, whether it's a proper roast on a Sunday or simply having someone to chat to over breakfast, is one of the simplest, and most welcome, parts of settling in.

Menus Built Around Every Resident
Every new resident meets our Head Chef early on, not just to talk through dietary needs, but to find out what they enjoy eating. Long standing favourites, family recipes, and specific requirements, whether that's a modified diet, diabetes management, a vegetarian or gluten free diet, or something shaped by culture or faith, are all menus we cater for.
Our restaurant quality menus are designed alongside residents, offering real choice rather than a single set option, with every dish cooked fresh on site by a trained Head Chef led team, never relying on bulk frozen food.
Weight, nutrition and hydration are carefully monitored, and where residents need help eating, our team will assist discreetly and with dignity.
Bringing People Together Over Food
Time for tea
Every Wednesday, at 3.00pm, a dedicated High Tea Trolley makes its way around each of our care homes with a delicious spread, including a cake selection of classic favourites and seasonal specials, so there's something for everyone, including residents on modified or reduced sugar diets. A team member rings a traditional bell to mark tea time, and because the trolley is mobile, it can visit residents in their own room too, with a carer or visitor for company. The whole home join in and it's always a highlight for residents, with their family and friends always welcome to join in.
Once a month, on the first Wednesday, we open High Tea to the wider local community as High Tea at Three, with complimentary tea, coffee and freshly baked treats. To find out more about this or our other events happening across our homes, why not take a look at our events page.
Pull up a seat at the Chef's Table
On the last Thursday of every month, a small group of residents and team members are invited to something a little different, our Chef's Table. Working with the Head Chef, residents help shape a two or three course fine dining menu, drawing on favourite dishes and seasonal ingredients.
Each course is plated in front of them, and the chef sits down to eat and talk it through alongside them. It turns a meal into an occasion, a chance to reminisce, share stories, and enjoy something special.
Moments That Mean Everything
Food has a way of bringing people together, and in our homes, that is something we actively encourage. Whether it is a quiet cup of tea shared with a loved one on an afternoon or a full high tea with the whole family gathered around the table, these are the moments that remind everyone why choosing the right care home matters so much.
We put a great deal of thought and care into our dining experience, not just because good nutrition is important, but because mealtimes should be something to genuinely look forward to. When families visit and share in that experience, it tells us we are getting it right. We are proud to receive wonderful feedback from families who have done exactly that, and we share it openly on carehome.co.uk so you can read their words for yourself.

Cooking with the seasons
Each month, our chefs shine a spotlight on a seasonal fruit and vegetable at its very best, creating new dishes that make the most of it at least once a week.
Cooking with British produce in season means better flavour, better nutritional value, and better value for money too, savings we can put straight back into the quality of every meal we serve. It's also a chance for our chefs to get creative, and for residents to enjoy something a little different, season by season.
Confident, safe support for those with swallowing difficulties (dysphagia)
Dysphagia, difficulty swallowing safely, can be something that affects individual, especially as they age and is something we take very seriously. Our Group Executive Chef, Steve Wright, leads ongoing training for Head Chefs and kitchen teams across every home, making sure texture modified meals are prepared safely and consistently, without losing flavour or presentation.
A pureed or modified diet is planned and cooked with real care, not treated as an afterthought. For families, knowing this level of specialist knowledge sits behind every meal offers real peace of mind, that dysphagia is properly understood and catered for here, not simply accommodated.
