Quiet moments and getting to know you, from day one

From the moment someone moves in, our teams take the time to learn about their life so far; their career, family and the hobbies they've always loved. Using this information, we shape a genuinely personal programme of activities and interaction.

Not every resident wants to join a group activity, and that's completely fine. Our team members are just as happy sitting and chatting one-to-one as they are running a session for twenty people, and quiet lounges are always on hand for residents who'd rather read, rest or simply enjoy a newspaper, a coffee and a pastry at their own pace.

Whatever a resident wants to do with their day, we're there to support it.

Spaces to enjoy

Many of our homes offer more than one place to spend the day, so residents can choose the setting that suits their mood.

Staying connected: family, friends and the wider community

Family and friends are always welcome to visit, any time, and to join a resident for a meal or an activity whenever they like.

Many of our homes also build relationships with the local community, with visits from schools, volunteers and local groups adding fresh faces and new conversations to the week.

Throughout the year, our care homes host family open days, seasonal parties and birthday celebrations, and some also arrange trips out to local parks, shops or events. These events, outings and parties vary by home and what the residents there enjoy, so it's worth checking what's on offer with the home team locally.

A sense of purpose

For some residents, staying active means having a job to do, not just an activity to join. Where residents want to, we're happy to involve them in small practical jobs alongside our team. For example, some residents who enjoyed hands-on DIY in the past like to work alongside our Site Maintenance Officers on small tasks where they’re able, from simple repairs to helping them keep the garden in shape.

It's a small thing, but having a purpose and a job well done can matter just as much as any planned activity.

Speak to our team or book a visit

The best way to get a feel for daily life here is to see it in person. Ask about the current activities calendar when you visit, or better still, come along and join in an activity or event.
