Her career began as a registered nurse in NHS intensive care before moving into care home nursing and progressing into management. Julie’s clinical background gives her a deep understanding of day-to-day care, allowing her to support her team effectively.
She leads with an open-door approach, encouraging a warm, inclusive environment where residents feel at home and staff feel valued. Passionate about personalising care and championing team development, Julie works closely with both residents and their families to ensure high-quality, person-centred living every day.

Once a simple maintenance shed, this welcoming space was lovingly transformed by residents into a homely retreat, complete with a working kitchen and toilet facilities. It’s now the perfect place to enjoy a cuppa after tending to the garden or spending quiet time in the adjacent memorial garden.
Though its grand opening, led by the local Mayor, was a highlight some time ago, Grandma’s Cottage remains a meaningful and calming feature of life at Horsell Lodge, offering comfort, connection and a little slice of everyday joy.
