A Busy December For Mellish House Residents
Mellish House Care Home residents embraced the festive spirit over the month of December with resident-led activities, ensuring a joyful and personalised lead-up to Christmas.
With an array of activities being run, it was flower arranging, a perennial favorite among residents, that took centre stage with a special focus on creating beautiful Christmas table pieces. With the support of the team at Mellish House, residents crafted stunning decorations that adorned the Home. Resident Maureen, impressed with her own creation, exclaimed, "I cannot believe I made something so beautiful."
Mellish House Take a Trip to Town
Residents Grace and George embarked on a festive outing to Sudbury town centre, immersing themselves in the Christmas Tree festival at St Peters Church. The duo savored the beauty of the trees and indulged in hot drinks and cake, marking the day as a highlight of their month.
Residents Create Christmas Decorations
Chantel from Grow My Wellbeing joined residents at Mellish House to create Christmas Terrariums, adding a touch of nature to the holiday décor in the Home. The activity, which also involved some relatives, promoted meaningful experiences and lasting memories.
Christmas Festival Trip for Mellish House Residents
Residents actively participated in adorning the Christmas trees throughout the home, infusing the surroundings with festive cheer. John and George extended the festivities with an enjoyable afternoon at the Melford Street Festival, taking in the brilliant entertainment and delectable Christmas treats that were on show.
John summed up the experience, saying, "That was amazing; I have never had a day quite like it."
The month's activities reflect Mellish House's dedication to enriching the lives of residents and providing the flexibility needed to give residents the chance to attend these special events.
