As the Home Manager of Blenheim Court, I lead a professional team in providing the highest standards of care for up to 60 residents with varying needs.
I have a qualified nursing background with over 22 years’ experience, during this time I have worked in various roles within the NHS including as a surgical nurse and as a Ward Manager for a Rehabilitation Unit. Following on from this I was given the opportunity of working for the Chief Nursing Office as a project manager for two years.
In 2015 I decided it was time for a change and started working in care homes as I wanted to get back to caring for people directly and making a difference to their way of life, progressing from a Deputy Manager to Home Manager over three years ago.
During my career I have undertaken and gained a range of qualifications including in 2010 my degree in Clinical Practice, this and all my other qualifications have not only helped in my development but have given me knowledge that I can apply in my day-to-day working life.
I enjoy all aspects of managing a care home, including making it homely for my residents and offering personal care based on individual’s needs, while supporting my staff to develop and succeed in their roles. I feel very privileged to be in a role which gives me such fulfilment and enables me to bring my knowledge, experience and skills to my team, who are encouraged to give the best care and support they can to our residents and their families.
