Guysfield Resident Supporting Recruiting

At Guysfield Residential Home we like our residents to feel happy and safe with our care staff and what better way to try and achieve this than with having the residents input with the recruiting process as they are the very people who will be receiving their first line care.

Since 2017, Guysfield Management have asked selected residents who are able to effectively interact with the new candidates to spend a few moments with them following the main interview with the management team to ask their own questions and find out a little more about the candidate. This can help with seeing how the candidates react to the residents and how the resident feels about them.

Joan has been one of the residents who has taken on the role for Guysfield as she depends on the care staff to manage daily living tasks and for the social and emotional support required by us all making her the ideal person to meet with the candidates who would possibly be assisting her.

Joan enjoys feeling like she has a voice within the home and is listened to so when she gives feedback to Pawel (Home Manager) she is very animated and connected with her environment.

During this feedback, Joan explains what she asked the candidates and how she felt about their response, she informs Pawel on her overall take on the candidates and how she would feel if they would start working at Guysfield. Her feedback notes are added to the interview notes as they can improve the overall picture of any of our candidates.

At Guysfield Residential Home in Letchworth we provide residential and dementia care for up to 49 elderly people. You can find us in the beautiful conservation village of Willian, just south of Letchworth Garden City, in Hertfordshire.
