Mellish House Residents Enjoy a Harmonious Outing with Sinfonia Viva

30th July 2023

Residents at Mellish House Care Home in Sudbury, Suffolk enjoyed a harmonious outing this month as they joined a heartwarming group session at their local football club. This special event, named Sinfonia Viva, was orchestrated by The Bridge Project, a local community group dedicated to creating opportunities for all.

What made this event even more remarkable was the collaborative effort between The Bridge Project and the council to promote such inclusive sessions throughout the community. Mellish House was delighted to be the only care home joining the event, bringing a unique blend of backgrounds and experiences to the gathering.

The attendees were treated to enchanting music by a talented quartet, and everyone had the chance to explore their musical talents by playing instruments and making music together. Some even tried their hand at conducting members of the quartet.

Maekhala Allan, Home Manager of Mellish House, shared her thoughts on this memorable day, saying, "Our residents had a wonderful time, and it was heartwarming to see them connect with new faces from different backgrounds. Events like these truly enrich our residents' lives."

The event also had a special guest in the form of the mayor, who mingled with the attendees, adding an extra layer of community spirit to the day. The significance of this event was acknowledged even further when it was featured on BBC radio, spreading the heartwarming story far and wide.

Mellish House continues to be at the forefront of fostering connections within the community, making a meaningful impact on the lives of its residents and the Sudbury community at large.
