The types of care we provide
Living well with dementia
We are proud to be the only care home group to have our own unique award-winning dementia training ‘My World’ which is accredited by City and Guilds. It highlights the importance of meaningful activities and a stimulating environment for people living with dementia, in addition to addressing clinical aspects of care.
Daily life

Keeping things personal
At Homefield Grange
The wonderful surroundings at Homefield Grange are matched by the standard of care our team brings residents. We love learning as much as we can about the people we care for, so your loved one’s time is tailored to their individual needs, interests and preferences. This can be as small as knowing when they like to wake up, to how they like their tea, and everything in between.
We give as much independence as possible, letting individuals choose how to run the home and if they prefer dinner in front of the TV, or even dusting their own room, we’ll make it happen. Just as putting their own stamp on their bedroom, we’ll help them to personalise it with the things they love.
Every need catered for
Mealtimes are an important part of daily life at Homefield Grange. We know eating well and the social experience of dining are key to health and wellbeing. Our chefs select a different menu each day, creating lots of home-cooked dishes with fresh ingredients to choose from. Using their in-depth knowledge of nutrition, they cater for any special diets and needs.
Keep doing what you love
At Homefield Grange, there’s something to tickle everyone’s fancy – from the craft room to the hair salon, our packed schedule of events and activities, to picnics in the stunning grounds. And if residents prefer to spend one-on-one time with a member of the team, they can read the paper, pop to the shops or have a pint in the local pub. We have strong connections with the Christchurch community, many of our residents invite them to join in our activities or even run their own here.
You'll be in good company this winter

Book a respite stay for peace of mind
Over four million older people in the UK say they feel lonely and lack the friendship and support which we all need. Our respite and permanent stays offer the chance to see some new faces and try out some new things with as much or as little support as you need.
During this unprecedented time, many residents have chosen us for peace of mind so they feel safe in the knowledge that care and support is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week should they need it, as well as staying connected. Whether you're looking for permanent care or a respite stay, ask us about our latest availability in our homes and the extra things we are doing to keep our residents, families and teams safe.
Hannah Guyan
I have been Home Manager here at Homefield Grange for three years and I enjoy the challenges care home life can present and take my responsibilities very seriously, striving to maintain a safe and happy environment, promote great care and make a positive difference to all of our residents’ lives.
There is an enthusiastic and compassionate team working here with me delivering the highest standards of residential, dementia, nursing and palliative care. As Home Manager I want to support my team and ensure their professional development as well as my own, something Caring Homes provides a lot of support for.
Homefield Grange currently has a Good overall rating from the CQC, something we are proud of and aim to build upon.
I started working in the care sector aged 18 as a carer in a care home, a job which I loved and wanted to progress from so I went to university to do my nurse training. This was followed by nursing jobs in a variety of settings including hospital wards, the intensive care unit and as a prison nurse, so I brought a wide range of experience to Homefield Grange with me.
I realised that it was care home work which I wanted to do in the long-term as you can get to know your residents and their families really well, in a way that doesn’t happen as a hospital nurse. I am proud to have become a Home Manager, it is hard work but is a job which I have wanted ever since I first started as a carer.
I believe in maintaining strong relationships between residents and their relatives and understand the important contribution that these relationships, in conjunction with the relationships that are made with myself and my team, make to the successful running of a care home.
I love to see families getting involved in the regular events which we run here and enjoy building good relationships with the community. Our regular visitors, who our residents love to spend time with, include the local primary school, the Girls Brigade and the Scouts.
Away from Homefield Grange I am Step-Mum to Finley and Mum to two young daughters, who are also regular visitors to the home. We enjoy our family time and are really fortunate to live in a beautiful part of the country so can regularly explore the New Forest as well as spend time at the beach.
I look forward to welcoming you to Homefield Grange soon.
