Magna is a stunning purpose-built Care Centre providing residential and specialist nursing care for up to 65 elderly ladies and gentlemen. Located in the village of Canford Magna, near Wimborne in Dorset, Magna Care Centre enjoys commanding views over the beautiful local countryside, which is designated a Site of Special Scientific Interest due to the abundance of rare flora and fauna.
Magna Care Centre has been constructed in a Mediterranean style and lies within landscaped grounds featuring palms and numerous other exotic plants, creating an attractive and distinctive environment. In keeping with this prestigious location Magna Care Centre offers the very highest standards of hospitality. Bedrooms and communal areas are all decorated and furnished to the level one would expect of such a building. Our qualified chef takes pride in delivering fine cuisine that has been carefully chosen to meet each resident’s nutritional needs.
Outside of traditional meal times residents can enjoy fresh-ground coffee and snacks at the coffee-bar, one of the home’s most popular social hubs.
Magna Care Centre offers a full range of residential and nursing care support, including trial stays, respite breaks and convalescent care as well as long term care. Residents are encouraged to bring important personal possessions to personalise their rooms. The home operates an open visiting policy, where residents and loved ones may visit at convenient times. In common with all of our homes, Magna Care Centre’s manager has a qualified nursing background. The home is fully registered with the Care Quality Commission and has ISO9001/2000 and Hospitality Assured accreditation.

Life in a Caring Home is viewed as a continuum of life – an opportunity to gain new experiences and learn new things – whilst maintaining your existing hobbies and interests.
At every Caring Home, there is a dedicated activities co-ordinator who is on hand to support residents in learning new hobbies and maintaining existing ones.
An activities programme is developed by the activities co-ordinators who work in conjunction with the clinical team in reviewing each individuals occupational interests and tailoring an activities programme that addresses them.
