Kippington House has been providing residential and nursing care of the highest standard to the surrounding area of Sevenoaks for nearly 60 years. This beautiful Victorian building was first converted into a care home in the early 1950s and provides excellent nursing care.
Why choose Kippington?
The current building dates from 1874 and was a grand family residence formerly known as Kippington Grange. The building’s predecessor was steeped in history, reputedly playing host to Jane Austen in the early 19th century and Thomas Farnaby, scholar and follower of Sir Francis Drake in the 17th century.
Our commitment to care
Kippington has an outstanding team of highly skilled and passionate support staff. Its manager has a qualified nursing background and leads the professional care team in providing the highest standards of tailored care.
Kippington offers a full range of nursing care support, including trial stays, short-stay breaks and convalescent care. It works to the nationally accredited Gold Standard Framework in palliative care, ensuring the very highest standard of care during a person’s last days. This enables individuals to remain in their care home setting rather than having to relocate to hospital or a hospice.
The home is fully registered with the Care Quality Commission and has ISO9001/2000 and Hospitality Assured accreditation and is widely acknowledged as one of the leading care homes in the area.
How we ensure the wellbeing of our residents
At Kippington we adopt a best-practice approach as outlined by Stirling’s Dementia Services Development Centre, which is renowned as the world leader in this field. It ensures that residents are able to move freely around the home, with bedrooms and communal areas appropriately laid out and clearly signposted.

My mother spent the final 8 weeks of her life at Kippington, following a severe stroke and a long hospital stay. She was totally bedridden and did not eat solid food or use any facilities. The care she received from the carers, nurses and management was totally first rate. I do not think my mother could have had better treatment and care.
