Care Home Manager

Forth Bay Care Home experienced a significant fire last month which led to the full evacuation of all residents and colleagues. We are very pleased to confirm that everyone was safely evacuated.

By working closely with social services and other professional bodies, all our residents are now settled in alternative accommodation at Alan McLure House in Glenrothes and Glenbervie Care Home in Larbert.

The health and wellbeing of our residents is always our priority and Caring Homes colleagues have moved with them to their new homes. We continue to work in the best interests of all residents whilst we provide continuity of care and rebuild all care plans.

We are fully committed to re-instating Forth Bay and a project team is working to organise this. Sadly, parts of the building are beyond repair and will be rebuilt. Other parts of the home will be repaired and refurbished before reopening and we will keep residents and relatives up to date with timescales for all works as soon as they are confirmed.

We would like to sincerely thank our dedicated teams for their brilliant work since the fire in ensuring all our residents continue to get the best care possible. We are extremely proud of, and thankful for, their continued professionalism, support and dedication with many adding significant journey times to their days and nights to provide the continuity of care valued by Caring Homes and its residents.

We are overwhelmed and thankful for the support shown by the local community since the fire and our team have been out delivering messages of thanks personally to businesses and individuals in the village who have helped us.

The Forth Bay, Contact Us, phone number: 0808 223 5504, remains in use and is diverted to a member of our team who will be able to assist with general day to day enquiries.

For relatives of those at Alan McLure please call 01592 759155 or for those at Glenbervie 01324 281011.

Manager's Profile

I joined Forth Bay as a newly qualified Staff Nurse in 2001 and took on a number of senior roles, including Charge Nurse in 2003 and Deputy Manager in 2006, before eventually becoming the Home Manager.

This in-depth knowledge of the home helped me prepare for my role as Home Manager and I am working hard to ensure that those in my care continue to lead happy and fulfilling lives, whilst maintaining choice over the care and support they receive. I strive to give our residents the care and lifestyle they wish to have, and endeavour to involve them in every aspect of their care.

As well as spending time with residents and making sure that they are comfortable, safe and happy, I see it as an important part of my role to act as a mentor to my Care Team. I firmly believes that a happy, fulfilled and motivated Team will be able to deliver consistently high standards of care.

I enjoy a range of hobbies outside of work, including arts and crafts. Having lived in the region for over 30 years, I love nothing more than taking in the picturesque local scenery whilst walking my beloved dog.
