Person Centered Care
Person-centred care is a commonly used phrase in the care sector, but:
What does it really mean?
Person-centred care is a philosophy of providing care that is centred around the person, and not just their health needs.
To explain this in simple terms – we are all individual, no two people are the same hence it is not appropriate to say that because two people have dementia – that they both have the same care and support needs – our approach ensures a comprehensive understanding on individual need and the development of appropriate individual care plans for every resident for whom we are privileged to care for.
