Carol Concert and Christmas Service at Whittington House

9th December 2016
On the ninth day of Christmas, Whittington House Nursing Home in Cheltenham got into the festive spirit when we held our annual Christmas Carol Concert and Church Service for our residents, families, friends and local community. It was a very special and joyful event with lots of Christmas music and carols, festive readings with a service from St Mark’s Church, music from our local choir and delicious winter treats. The gentle strains of 'The Twelve Days of Christmas', Silent Night, Holy Night', as well as many other old favourites rang out throughout our home and filled the air and our hearts. There may not have been 'nine ladies dancing' but there were 'nine ladies singing.'It was a very moving event and the team at Whittington House were so pleased to see so many happy, smiling faces. This time of year, it is so important to recognise not only our residents but their families and friends and to allow everyone to celebrate the joys of the season with the ones they love. Everyone joined in, reminisced about other carol concerts they had enjoyed in the past and how this brought back so many good memories.Lyndsey Dixon, Home Manager said:"It was great to see everyone who came along to our home, joined in with their favourite Christmas carols and enjoyed celebrating this special event with us. It was a chance to meet up with old friends and make new friends creating bonds that will last well beyond this single day."At Whittington House, to make this time special for our residents and their loved ones we have lots of festive themed activities planned in the lead up to and including Christmas and New Year. Our home is sparkling and aglow with festive decorations and full of cheer. From everyone at Whittington House, we would like to wish you...

'Seasons Greetings and best wishes for the New Year.'
