Whittington celebrate music from around the world

Whittington House nursing home in Cheltenham hosted music from around the world reminiscence sessions this week. To assist with this the activity co-ordinator hired out Wilson boxes, from Cheltenham gallery and museum. These are used for educational and reminiscence purpose, in schools and care homes.

The residents were shown an instrument that allowed them to use all 5 senses, they were then quizzed see if they could guess what type of instruments it was and where it originated from.
Everyone enjoyed this activity immensely, saying how interesting it was and how nice it was to learn something new about other cultures.

It was lovely to see so many residents getting involved using their mind and having social engagement with each other. This helps their well-being and reduces the risk of isolation.
