The Pines celebrates The Queen’s 90th birthday!

On Friday 17th June residents, family, friends and staff at The Pines care home in Putney enjoyed a toast to The Queen to celebrate her Majesty’s 90th birthday.

Local entertainers joined in the celebrations and sung lots of old favourites which residents were able to sing along to. The day was full of dancing, singing and a lot of celebrating and a friendly canine even arrived to the pleasure of many residents.

The home was decorated patriotically in red, white and blue, with plenty of bunting and flags in keeping with the theme. The chef at the home baked a delicious cake which was enjoyed by all residents later in the afternoon. Relatives, friends and loved ones were invited to join for the day, which most did.

“This was a spectacular day, enjoyed by all involved” said Kay Wainwright, Home Manager: “Our residents always enjoy the diverse and varied activities we provide within the home and special celebrations like this one are a particular favourite. All staff worked really hard to ensure the day was a success and the entertainment was particularly popular.”
