Horsell Lodge Summer Competition
Horsell Lodge Care Home is delighted to be running its Summer Sun competition for children in the local community.
Everyone in the home has been looking forward to the summer: to sunshine; to seeing flowers in bloom; to long days and bright, warm evenings; and to being able to sit out in the tranquil garden, chatting and listening only to the sweet sounds of nature.
With this in mind, we’d love for children to get creative to help us attract more wildlife as well as bring some colour, fun and new talking points and areas of interest for the residents.
This competition will therefore invite the following painted and/or decorated entries:
• Bird feeders
• Pinwheels
• Ceramic flower pots (with or without seeds/flowers)
• Painted rocks
• Garden dragonflies
• Ladybird/insect hotels
• Handmade bunting
• Handmade bottle lights or string lights
• Any other ideas that you think will make our residents smile
Closing date for entries: Monday 14th June at 17.00
Prize: One hamper for the winner of each of the 6 and under and 7 and over categories
Terms & Conditions: Parents’ consent required to enter the competition
Entrants: primary school children
Please bring your entries to Horsell Lodge and place them in the designated box outside reception. In accordance with our strict infection control policies, they will be quarantined for 3 days, so the sooner we can have the entries we would be grateful.
Prizewinners will be announced on Thursday 24th June and hampers will be presented at Horsell Lodge the same day at 16.00. With parents’ and prizewinners’ permission we’d love to be able to take a photo of the winners being presented with their prize to go on social media (Facebook, Caring Homes Websites, the Horsell Village Wire etc). Please provide name, age, address, email and telephone number on a separate sheet of paper submitted together with your entry which we can then shred immediately the competition closes.
