Getting creative at Horsell Lodge

There is not a trace of a ready-made bought advent calendar at Horsell Lodge Care Home this year. The residents and team joined forces to create 24 wonderful boxes and fill them with all sorts of treats. Then each day a resident opens the box corresponding to their room number, any box without an associated room number goes to the lucky member of staff walking by at the right time.

Arts and crafts at the home is very popular and the sessions are a great way for residents to keep their hands and minds busy, while also giving them the chance to express their creative side. A number of residents also find getting involved with this a new and soothing way to spend time.
