Coffee and Cake at Brook House
The residents at Brook House Care Home have been enjoying coffee, cake and a chat during their Wellbeing Cafe at the home. The residents love to join each week giving them a chance to socialise and share their views on the news of the day. It also gives them a chance to reminisce about times in their life and share stories.
Yesterday they had a baking day as well and it was such a lovely activity for the residents to get involved in as it sparked memories of when they used to bake. They really enjoyed sharing their own recipes for different bakes and trying the batter. The residents then got to decorate the cakes with lots of lovely buttercream icing, sprinkles and chocolate and enjoyed them during the quiz later on in the day.
Working together to whip up some cakes is a fun activity and is good for joint mobility, whilst the smell of baking can help to stimulate appetites too.
