Blenheim Court Banchetto
The residents at Blenheim Court Care Home enjoyed an Italian feast family style in the bistro at the home - Viva Italia! As the unmistakable tones of Andrea Bocelli lifted the room, the residents took their seats, quickly followed by a glass of prosecco.
To start they had sundried tomato Arancini with a light dressing, followed by a choice of pan fried salmon fillet with a tomato and basil salsa or portobello mushroom stuffed with goats cheese, sundried tomatoes and basil. On the side was a choice of pesto tagliatelle, rosemary roasted new potatoes and a rocket and parmesan salad. For dessert, it had to be Tiramisu and to quote one of our diners directly, "That was the best tiramisu I've ever had!"
Other residents described the food as "Stupendous and superb!", "VERY tasty" and "absolutely delicious!"
A handful of residents ventured out into the cool air on the balcony for a tea or coffee and the sounds of their praise and happiness were a joy to listen to.
