Leading the Way with Technology
At Caring Homes, we use modern technology to turn any worry you may have into confidence. With tools like electronic medication management, AI-enabled pain identification, and room sensors to help prevent falls, your loved one is supported with precision and care. These systems don’t replace human warmth — they help ensure safety, accuracy, and peace of mind for both you and them.

Care Records
We use Person-centered Software (PCS) via hand-held devices which allow our staff to update each resident’s record there and then, making sure that all important information is recorded in an accurate and timely manner.
This means that we can always make sure we’re delivering seamless care that’s completely tailored to each resident, every day. We can also see quickly if there’s been any changes, or identify if a resident needs extra support. It also makes it easy for us to share records, with permission, to other healthcare professionals, such as GPs, as well as family members.

Medications
eMAR, an electronic medication recording and ordering system, allows us to make sure that all medications prescribed are ordered and delivered for each resident, and our qualified team are then able to distribute these as needed.
It’s another way we’re here to help take some of the worry away and give residents and their loved ones more time to enjoy the moment together.

Staying Connected
We utilise an app called ‘Relish’ which contains each resident’s past history and interests. We use this to record the residents’ activity each day – friends and family can catch up on all the activities their loved one has been enjoying.
They can also view photos of their loved ones taking part in activities and home events securely, and find suitable activities for their next visit by checking the Relish calendar of events.

Monitoring and Preventing Falls
As we age, the risk of falls increases and we know this can be a big concern for residents and relatives.
In our homes, we employ a range of technology and are currently working with a number of systems for residents who are more at risk of falls in our homes – these include lights, which are able to illuminate a resident’s room if movement is detected during the night so they’re at less risk of falling, and acoustic monitoring to help the team check on residents without disturbing them.

Managing Pain
We are using a new app called Painchek which uses AI to identify from subtle facial cues if a resident is in pain or discomfort – this is particularly beneficial for residents who may be, due to living with dementia or for other reasons, unable to verbalise this for themselves.
Utilised by our in-home nurse and care teams, they are able to combine results from the Paincheck app with their clinical expertise and knowledge of the resident to determine any changes required to medications or care.
