Keeping things personal
At Walstead Place
The wonderful surroundings at Walstead Place Care Home are matched by the standard of care our team brings residents. We love learning as much as we can about the people we care for, so your loved one’s time is tailored to their individual needs, interests and preferences. This can be as small as knowing when they like to wake up, to how they like their tea, and everything in between.
We give as much independence as possible, letting individuals choose how to run the home and if they prefer dinner in front of the TV, or even dusting their own room, we’ll make it happen. Just as putting their own stamp on their bedroom, we’ll help them to personalise it with the things they love.
Every need catered for
Mealtimes are an important part of daily life at Walstead Place Care Home. We know eating well and the social experience of dining are key to health and wellbeing. Our chefs select a different menu each day, creating lots of home-cooked dishes with fresh ingredients to choose from. Using their in-depth knowledge of nutrition, they cater for any special diets and needs.
Keep doing what you love
At Walstead Place Care Home, there’s something to tickle everyone’s fancy – from the the hair salon to our schedule of events and activities, and picnics in the lawned gardens. And if residents prefer to spend one-on-one time with a member of the team, they can read the paper, pop to the shops or have a pint in the local pub. We have strong connections with the Haywards Heath community, many of our residents invite them to join in our activities or even run their own here. View our example activities below.
You'll be in good company this spring

Book a respite stay for peace of mind
Over four million older people in the UK say they feel lonely and lack the friendship and support which we all need. Our respite and permanent stays offer the chance to see some new faces and try out some new things with as much or as little support as you need.
During this unprecedented time, many residents have chosen us for peace of mind so they feel safe in the knowledge that care and support is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week should they need it, as well as staying connected. Whether you're looking for permanent care or a respite stay, ask us about our latest availability in our homes and the extra things we are doing to keep our residents, families and teams safe.
Jacqueline Ferguson
I have vast experience in the elderly care sector. As a registered nurse with over 25 years experience, mainly in elderly care, I have worked in nursing homes as a Registered Nurse and as Home Manager. I have also worked as Operations Area Manager for a large healthcare company. I came back to the role of Home Manager as I missed working in a care home.
I enjoy the daily contact I have with residents, their families and my Care Team. I also enjoy ensuring that the home is able to provide the appropriate care to all clients while maintaining their independence, privacy and the right to choose.
I achieved my Registered Managers Award in 2001 and I’m passionate about person centred care; I believe in considering a resident’s life history when planning their care. As a manager I am passionate about dementia care and have completed a leadership course on this subject.
