Living well with Dementia

We are proud to be the only care home group to have our own unique award-winning dementia training ‘My World’ which is accredited by City and Guilds. It highlights the importance of meaningful activities and a stimulating environment for people living with dementia, in addition to addressing clinical aspects of care.

Keeping things personal

At Strathview Care Home

The lovely surroundings at Strathview Care Home are matched by the standard of care our team brings residents. We love learning as much as we can about the people we care for, so your loved one’s time is tailored to their individual needs, interests and preferences. This can be as small as knowing when they like to wake up, to how they like their tea, and everything in between.

We give as much independence as possible, letting individuals choose how to run the home and if they prefer dinner in front of the TV, or even dusting their own room, we’ll make it happen. Just as putting their own stamp on their bedroom, we’ll help them to personalise it with the things they love.

Keep doing what you love

At Strathview Care Home, there’s something to tickle everyone’s fancy – from the craft room to the hair salon, our packed schedule of events and activities, to picnics in the garden. And if residents prefer to spend one-on-one time with a member of the team, they can read the paper, pop to the shops or have a pint in the local pub. We have strong connections with the Auchtermunchty community, many of our residents invite them to join in our activities or even run their own here.

Book a respite stay for peace of mind

Over four million older people in the UK say they feel lonely and lack the friendship and support which we all need. Our respite and permanent stays offer the chance to see some new faces and try out some new things with as much or as little support as you need.

During this unprecedented time, many residents have chosen us for peace of mind so they feel safe in the knowledge that care and support is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week should they need it, as well as staying connected. Whether you're looking for permanent care or a respite stay, ask us about our latest availability in our homes and the extra things we are doing to keep our residents, families and teams safe.

Meet the Manager

Margaret Choudry

I qualified as a Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN) in 1975, after which I joined the National Health Service where I worked in Acute Psychiatry for 10 years. After my time in the NHS, I decided to further my career by providing professional nursing care to elderly people, working for 10 years as a Home Manager for Cabarfeidh Care Home with Caring Homes, and have more recently been responsible for the management of Beechwood Park in Alloa.

I find managing Strathview rewarding, stimulating and satisfying – every day brings a fresh challenge. I have gained a range of training certificates, in subjects that include: Behaviours that Challenge, Dementia Care, Palliative Care and Promoting Nutrition in Older People. I have also achieved the Registered Managers Award to support my role as Home Manager.

I always endeavour to develop my clinical skills through ongoing training and strive to ensure all of my Care Team are committed to ongoing training and personal development. I feel this empowers them and enables them to continue delivering high quality care services to our residents.

I develop, maintain and evaluate the systems we use to promote the rights and diversity of people in our home and maintain a service which achieves the best possible outcomes for both our residents and Care Team. My passion is the promotion of person-centred care, which I strongly believe enhances the quality of life for all who reside at Strathview.
