At Riverside Place

The wonderful surroundings at Riverside Place are matched by the standard of care our team brings residents. We love learning as much as we can about the people we care for, so your loved one’s time is tailored to their individual needs, interests and preferences. This can be as small as knowing when they like to wake up, to how they like their tea, and everything in between.

We give as much independence as possible, letting individuals choose how to run the home and if they prefer dinner in front of the TV, or even dusting their own room, we’ll make it happen. Just as putting their own stamp on their bedroom, we’ll help them to personalise it with the things they love.

Keep doing what you love

At Riverside Place, there’s something to tickle everyone’s fancy – from the bistro to the hair salon, our packed schedule of events and activities, to picnics in the gardens. And if residents prefer to spend one-on-one time with a member of the team, they can read the paper, pop to the shops or have coffee and cake. We have strong connections with the Ware community, many of our residents invite them to join in our activities or even run their own here. View our example activities below.

There are different spaces on each floor giving residents plenty of choice and more importantly different places to spend their day which increases the feeling of individuality and independence.

Open plan café bistro to entertain friends and neighbours, keeping residents connected to the wider community.
Our stunning rooftop orangery provides stunning views over the river Lea.
A private dining room allows friends and families to get-together for special occasions, the cinema room can also be transformed into a function room.
Dining rooms include kitchenettes with refrigerators, kettles, ovens, and sinks, for self-service by residents, friends and family.
Dementia friendly crockery can be easier to see against a table cloth and the lip on one side gives greater depth to improve the dining experience.
Activity rooms, Hair and Nail Salon, Cinema and Bistro are designed with residents and their visitors in mind. Residents can enjoy baking using cookers in activity rooms.
Garden rooms enjoy privacy and outdoor seating for warm days and summer evenings, as well as covered spaces to provide shelter in the cooler months.
Wind-proof glazed terraces and balconies provide outdoor enjoyment and stunning views all year round. Level paths make gardens accessible for walks and gentle activity.
Join friends and families to enjoy the morning sunshine or you may prefer the evening sunset. The changes in daylight throughout the day help to signal the passing of time to maintain a normal sleeping pattern.
Doors to en-suite wet rooms are fitted with two-way hinges, allowing them to be opened inwards and outwards, so if a resident should fall inside the bathroom, the door can be opened outwards to allow help quickly and safely.
Electronic care plans can be accessed by family to keep them up to date. A silent nurse call system can be less distressing and does not disturb other residents.
Open shelving can help a person living with dementia to find the right clothes and can minimise confusion.
