Keeping things personal

At Moorlands Nursing Home

The wonderful surroundings at Moorlands Nursing Home are matched by the standard of care our team brings residents. We love learning as much as we can about the people we care for, so your loved one’s time is tailored to their individual needs, interests and preferences. This can be as small as knowing when they like to wake up, to how they like their tea, and everything in between.

We give as much independence as possible, letting individuals choose how to run the home and if they prefer dinner in front of the TV, or even dusting their own room, we’ll make it happen. Just as putting their own stamp on their bedroom, we’ll help them to personalise it with the things they love.

Keep doing what you love

At Moorlands Nursing Home, there’s something to tickle everyone’s fancy – from the craft area to the hair salon, our schedule of events and activities, to picnics in the gardens. And if residents prefer to spend one-on-one time with a member of the team, they can read the paper, pop to the shops or have a pint in the local pub. We have strong connections with the Lightwater community, many of our residents invite them to join in our activities or even run their own here.

Meet the Manager

Dumitru Varzaru

As the Registered Manager of Moorlands Nursing Home, I lead a professional team in providing the highest standards of residential and nursing care for up to 40 residents with varying needs. Our commitment ensures they lead happy and fulfilling lives, whilst maintaining choice over the care and support they receive.

I am a qualified Nurse with background working in a private clinic on ECG’s, audiology tests, blood tests and spirometry, I then moved into a Clinical Lead role in a Haematology Ward which led to me working with palliative care, offering counselling and psychological support when needed. I have found this provides me with the perfect background for a nursing home, ensuring I fully understand the care required for each individual resident and giving me the ability to provide assurance and advice to families at Moorlands. I feel very fortunate to be in a post which gives me such fulfilment and which enables me to bring my knowledge, experience and skills to Caring Homes and my team, who in turn are enabled and encouraged to give the best care and support they can to our residents and their families.
