Keeping things personal
At Latham Lodge
The surroundings at Latham Lodge Nursing and Residential Care Home are matched by the standard of care our team brings residents. We love learning as much as we can about the people we care for, so your loved one’s time is tailored to their individual needs, interests and preferences. This can be as small as knowing when they like to wake up, to how they like their tea, and everything in between.
We give as much independence as possible, letting individuals choose how to run the home and if they prefer dinner in front of the TV, or even dusting their own room, we’ll make it happen. Just as putting their own stamp on their bedroom, we’ll help them to personalise it with the things they love.
Every need catered for
Mealtimes are an important part of daily life at Latham Lodge Nursing and Residential Care Home. We know eating well and the social experience of dining are key to health and wellbeing. Our chefs select a different menu each day, creating lots of home-cooked dishes with fresh ingredients to choose from. Using their in-depth knowledge of nutrition, they cater for any special diets and needs.
Keep doing what you love
At Latham Lodge Nursing and Residential Care Home there is somethings for everyone with our packed schedule of events and activities. And if residents prefer to spend one-on-one time with a member of the team, they can read the paper, pop to the shops or have a chat over coffee and cake. We have strong connections with the local community, many of our residents invite them to join in our activities or even run their own here.

Book a respite stay for peace of mind
Over four million older people in the UK say they feel lonely and lack the friendship and support which we all need. Our respite and permanent stays offer the chance to see some new faces and try out some new things with as much or as little support as you need.
During this unprecedented time, many residents have chosen us for peace of mind so they feel safe in the knowledge that care and support is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week should they need it, as well as staying connected. Whether you're looking for permanent care or a respite stay, ask us about our latest availability in our homes and the extra things we are doing to keep our residents, families and teams safe.
Sylvia Morse-Carter
I am passionate about ensuring all that can be done, is done, to ensure everyone within our home has the best possible care we can give, they are treated with dignity and respect, and I believe that engaging with other professionals to promote and support residents’ needs, whatever they may be, is important.
I enjoy a challenge and love to support colleagues to develop their full potential, which improves job satisfaction whilst ensuring the best quality care for residents. I am very much a people person, and use the skills I have gained throughout my career to promote and support well-being for all. Listening to others is essential to ensure people feel valued – staff, visitors to the home and most importantly residents in our care.
With 30 years’ experience as a mental health nurse, the latter 15 years were in a management role. I have managed community, day hospital and specialist mental health teams within the National Health Service (NHS) in my career to date. I have also been a trainer for mental health, an investigating officer for complaints, as well as managed nursing homes in the private sector. More recently I have been area manager for a small private company of nursing and residential homes.
