Families we’re helping

Keeping things personal

At Deer Park View

The wonderful surroundings at Deer Park View Care Centre are matched by the standard of care our team brings residents. We love learning as much as we can about the people we care for, so your loved one’s time is tailored to their individual needs, interests and preferences. This can be as small as knowing when they like to wake up, to how they like their tea, and everything in between.

We give as much independence as possible, letting individuals choose how to run the home and if they prefer dinner in front of the TV, or even dusting their own room, we’ll make it happen. Just as putting their own stamp on their bedroom, we’ll help them to personalise it with the things they love.

Keep doing what you love

At Deer Park View Care Centre, there’s something to tickle everyone’s fancy – from the craft room to the hair salon, we have a packed schedule of events and activities. And if residents prefer to spend one-on-one time with a member of the team, they can read the paper, pop to the shops or just have a chat. We have strong connections with the local community, our residents invite them to join in our activities or even run their own here.

Meet the Manager

Debi Miller

As the Home Manager I believe that our residents should be treated with the highest quality of care possible and endeavour to ensure that my team and I always maintain this. I lead by example and involve myself in day to day life of the home as well as making Deer Park View a happy and enjoyable place in which to live and work.

I have almost 30 years of nursing experience in various settings and roles including Head of Nursing, roles in the NHS and care homes before being promoted to Home Manager. Following some time away from the care home sector I have now returned as it is my love.

I like to get to know my residents, the stories they share are incredible and everyone is an individual and this is what is important to me. As well as getting to know my residents I take a lot of pleasure from spending time with their relatives as well, as I understand the important contribution that these relationships make to the successful running of a care home.

I encourage an open-door policy so that I am available for help and support whenever it is needed. This coupled with my management knowledge of training and developing team members to achieve their best means that together we make a difference to the lives of each of the residents.

Looking back over my career my biggest achievement is when I won Manager of the Year at the Great British Care Awards and this meant so much as I was nominated by my colleagues at the time.

In my spare time I enjoy spending time with my Husband and our dog, I have a love for travelling, reading a good book and picking up my knitting needles.
