Keeping things personal

At Bradbury House

The warm and comfortable surroundings at Bradbury House are matched by the standard of care our team brings residents. We love learning as much as we can about the people we care for, so your loved one’s time is tailored to their individual needs, interests and preferences. This can be as small as knowing when they like to wake up, to how they like their tea, and everything in between.

We give as much independence as possible, letting individuals choose how to run the home and if they prefer dinner in front of the TV, or even dusting their own room, we’ll make it happen. Just as putting their own stamp on their bedroom, we’ll help them to personalise it with the things they love.

Keep doing what you love

At Bradbury House, there’s something to tickle everyone’s fancy – from crafts to relaxing in the lounge, our packed schedule of events and activities, to picnics outside on the patio. And if residents prefer to spend one-on-one time with a member of the team, they can read the paper, pop to the shops or have a pint in the local pub. We have strong connections with the Braintree community, many of our residents invite them to join in our activities or even run their own here.

Meet the Manager

Karen Thompson

Bradbury House Home Manager

I have worked in the elderly care sector for 30 years, and at Bradbury House for 11 of those years, starting as a Care Assistant gradually working my way up to Deputy Manager and then Manager position in 2017. I have achieved NVQ level 3 in health and social care and am currently working towards my level 5 in management and leadership with full support of my team.

As part of my role as Home Manager I ensure that the dignity and respect of every resident is upheld and the needs of the residents are met. I really feel as though I make a difference within the home. I still thoroughly enjoy working here, no day is ever the same, and I enjoy seeing the residents and relatives happy because of the hard work and dedication of all the team here at Bradbury house

I was born in Braintree and have lived here my whole life so I know the area well and the local community support we get is amazing. Braintree is a small community where everyone helps each other when they are in need.
