Finance and Legal Matters When Considering Care

A free afternoon event at Cotman House Care Home, Felixstowe

Wednesday 8th July 2026 | 2.00pm to 4.00pm

Thinking about care, for yourself or someone you love raises a lot of questions. For most families, the financial and legal side of things is where those questions feel most daunting.

How is care actually paid for? What happens if someone loses the ability to manage their own affairs? Is a will enough, or is there more to consider?

This free event is designed to give you straightforward, honest answers in a relaxed and supportive setting.

Who You'll Hear From

We've brought together two experienced specialists to guide you through the topics that matter most.

Penny Griffiths, Eldercare Group
Penny specialises in care funding and will walk you through the different ways long-term care can be financed, what you may be entitled to, and how to plan ahead with confidence.

Lorna Bastian, Aquabridge Law
Lorna will explain the importance of Lasting Powers of Attorney, what happens without one in place, and why having a current will is one of the most important things any family can do.

What the Afternoon Covers

  • The different ways long-term care can be funded and what applies to your situation
  • What a Lasting Power of Attorney is, why it matters, and how to put one in place
  • Why a will is about more than inheritance and how it protects your family's wishes
  • The opportunity to ask questions in a no-pressure, confidential setting
