Important update about Kingsclear Care Home

Following a thorough review of the building and its infrastructure, and extensive consultation with stakeholders, Caring Homes has taken the decision to close the current home at Kingsclear, enabling us to build a new state of the art home at the same location.

The current home is coming to the end of its operational lifespan. The building comprises a mix of older elements and its layout has become increasingly unsuitable for modern day care standards. Therefore, in order to ensure we can continue to provide the best care for older people in Camberley in the future, we will be building a brand new home.

Planning permission for the new home has been granted by the local authority. We are working closely with current residents and their families to find alternative homes that meet their individual care needs and with staff to find alternative placements.

The closure process is expected to be completed over the summer of 2015. The demolition and construction phase will follow in the autumn and we anticipate that the new Kingsclear will open in 2017/18. With this substantial new investment we look forward to continuing to provide the highest standards of care for older people in the Camberley area for many years to come.

Kingsclear care & nursing home is a beautiful Edwardian house offering residential and nursing care of the highest standard for up to 72 elderly people.

All of our Care Homes in Surrey have dedicated activities co-ordinators working in conjunction with the clinical team to develop individual activity programmes to address personal needs and requirements.

The care and attention given to my Dad in the last eight months of his life was exceptional. The carers were so kind and patient with him at all times and nothing was too much trouble. He thought of Kingsclear as his home and never asked when he was going to leave which was a blessing. There is always guilt when the need arises to put a parent into a nursing home, but I know now it was the best decision I could of made both for him and especially for me... -

My mother spent her last (nearly) two years at Kingsclear. She was always kept warm, well fed, comfortable & clean. Staff were excellent and always attentive to my mothers's visitors. I would not hesitate to recommend Kingsclear to others.

Prior to my dad moving to Kingsclear I was at breaking point. He was aggressive, unreasonable, demanding, abusive, depressed and lonely. Since moving to Kingsclear he is clean, well groomed and I have never seen him more pleasant and happy. He is fed, given his medicine at the correct time and has company. Before moving to Kingsclear he had several falls. Only had one since moving here.

We were allowed to make our mum's room look as much like her own home as possible, with furniture and pictures and bedding etc. Mum is always clean, fresh and nicely dressed and even has make up applied. The home manager always has time to answer our own cares and concerns regarding mum who has dementia. We always observe the nurses and carers as they go about their work, they are charming, welcoming and hospitable towards us and show great patience and kindness towards the residents... -

Kingsclear Nursing Home has got very good staff, carers, activities, kitchen staff and cleaners, they are all very polite and always have smiles on their faces. My friend needs a lot of care and nothing seems too much trouble. Its got some lovely gardens and the house has got some lovely features. Staff are always welcoming, so I recommend this home.
