Viva La France at Whittington

The residents at Whittington House in Cheltenham went French for its third destination as part of their ‘Food from Around the World’ tour.

Arts and Crafts Club have been busy making flags and colouring pictures of objects around France such as the Eiffel Tower, clothing (scarves and berets) and the French flag. All of which were displayed in and around the dining rooms on all floors.

To start the day off all the residents involved in Film Club gathered to watch ‘Moulin Rouge’, whilst the in house Chefs prepared a wonderful French Cuisine, which included a starter of Moules Marinere, Pan Fried Minute Steak and Fruit de la Mere Salad-Seafood Salade with Tart tatin and Profiterole’s to finish. The residents and relatives enjoyed the food immensely and were full of praise for the chefs.

After lunch a large group of our residents gathered to listen to a French staff member talk about where she was born and about French culture. This led into some marvellous reminiscing with all the resident participating. This was followed by a game of French bowls.
