VE Day celebrations at Galsworthy

Residents, families and the care team at Galsworthy House nursing home in Kingston upon Thames celebrated VE day this week, as the care team dressed up in 1940’s clothes to set the occasion.

Residents travelled back in time to celebrate the end of the war with a traditional British dinner of shepherds pie, and Homity pie on the lunch  menu, with many residents enjoying bread pudding later in the day.

Our residents proudly waved their flags and joined in the fun as we enjoyed entertainment from a new entertainer, Jess, she sang songs from the 1940’s such as “Bless Them All”, “White Cliffs Of Dover” and “Nightingale In Berkeley Square” plus many more.

At Galsworthy House care home in Kingston upon Thames we provide the highest standards of residential, nursing and dementia care for up to 72 elderly residents.
