The Orchard celebrates National Care Home Open Day

At The Orchard nursing home in St Albans, we hosted a successful National Care Home Open Day Spring Fair on Friday.Our residents and guests enjoyed a wonderful time in the sunshine listening to fabulous singer Claire, who kept everyone entertained with a range of songs, both new and old.
Home Manager, Wendy Walker said;
“There was a great assortment of refreshments available with the scones proving to be very popular with everyone.""A variety of stalls, a tombola and a raffle all contributed to a great ‘Open Day’ here at The Orchard. And we couldn’t have asked for more in terms of the great weather.”

National Care Home Open Day (NCHOD) is all about Linking Communities with care homes. It's a chance to celebrate all the different people, cultures and relationships in the area and show the community that care homes are friendly, happy and exciting places to be.Care homes open their doors to celebrate NCHOD every year, with key values at its heart: friendship, making connections and celebrating older and vulnerable people.
