Summer Fete Fun at The Orchard

The Orchard nursing home residents enjoyed a fabulous Summer Fete with friends and members of our local community, at our home in St Albans on 7th July.

The Orchard hold this event annually and it just gets better each year. Although the date clashed with the England and Sweden World Cup match, that did not deter our residents, team and guests and we had a great turnout with local people joining our residents, families and team for our fun event.

We even had the local radio station mention our fete on air!

There were many stalls and games to enjoy from live entertainment, BBQ, Bric-a-Brac, kids games and also some stalls from local businesses who came along too, including a local book author, Aloe products, crystal healing, knitting, crochet and craft stalls.

Dennis, also known as ‘One Man Stand’ provided the musical entertainment. He was brilliant as always and had everyone singing and dancing along.

The weather was beautiful, everyone did a fabulous job, and we managed to raise £282.26! Our residents and families all enjoyed themselves, the atmosphere was amazing and that just makes it all worthwhile.

Home Manager, Wendy Walker, said:

“It was a fabulous day with so much support from our residents, relatives, friends and local families. We’d like to thank everyone who came along to support us and who made this such a lovely family event.”

“At The Orchard, we love being involved in local St Alban’s life and opening our doors to welcome visitors to our home. It’s great for our residents and team as it brings all of us together with friends, family and our local community.”

We have a jam packed summer ahead of us and our residents are looking forward to enjoying even more special outings, day trips and entertainment at our home.

Coronavirus (COVID-19) Update
To Whom it may concern,

RE: A message from the CEO and Clinical Director

At Caring Homes we are following the latest Government advice and stopping visitors to all our homes, except for essential visits by healthcare professionals who will be required to adhere to strict protocols.

We understand that this may be very difficult for families but we are clear in our duty to ensure we protect the health, safety and wellbeing of our Residents and Colleagues as our top priority.

We want you to know that you can contact your loved ones through calls, emails, video and social media and we will support our Residents to view any messages you send over. We are confident that the teams in our homes are doing all they can to ensure that life remains as comfortable and sociable as possible. There will be a full programme of activities delivered by our in-house health and wellbeing teams.

We hope you will understand and support these actions and any further subsequent measures we might need to put in place.

Yours sincerely
