Paul named as Inspirational Newcomer 2018

Mill House Nursing Home is delighted to announce that Activities Co-ordinator Paul Dixon has been named as Inspirational Newcomer 2018 in the Gloucestershire Care Awards.

Run by Gloucestershire Care Providers Association (GCPA) these prestigious awards recognise staff working within the independent care sector in Gloucestershire for the hard work and dedication that they show every day.

Paul was announced as the winner at a prestigious black-tie gala awards dinner at the Cheltenham Chase hotel with judges comments including that the activities at Mill House are a perfect example of what care homes should offer – in fact they would do well to copy what Paul does at Mill House as he totally sums up the word in this award “inspirational”

Paul said; “Making our residents happy and providing good customer care is the forefront of everything we do at Mill House. I genuinely feel like I make a difference in the job I do and am thrilled to have won this award.”

This Inspirational Newcomer award seeks to acknowledge and celebrate a new member of staff who has commenced and remained in employment in the care sector since January 2016 and who shows a good understanding of the role along with excellent people skills. Candidates were also expected to show empathy and responsiveness, especially in emotional situations along with willingness and determination to take up opportunities.

Mill House was also shortlisted in the top three of hundreds of nominations from across the county in the Carer of the Year and Gloucestershire Unsung Hero categories.
