Nutrition and Hydration Week at Cotman House

Throughout Caring Homes our chefs supported Nutrition and Hydration Week with special foods and events to mark each day of the week and Cotman House in Felixstowe was no exception.

Good nutrition and hydration are always a priority for our catering teams but to introduce an element of fun our chefs were asked to come up with a special afternoon tea, evening meal and even a cocktail during Nutrition and Hydration Week 2018 which ran from 13th – 19th March.

Thursday became Thirsty Thursday with non alcoholic cocktails, juices and specialist smoothies on offer. Fruity Friday followed with imaginative fruit desserts, fruit platters, fruit based drinks and smoothies.

At Cotman House a special Stewed Apple and Porridge was served for breakfast, which was a different spin on their usual fare. According to the chef, the non-alcoholic cocktails took a little getting used to but our residents all enjoyed the kitchen’s interpretation of a Manhattan Iced Tea.

Cotman House and Lodge provides residential care in a purpose built environment for up to 61 elderly people over looking the Felixstowe Bay.
