Musical reminiscence at Galsworthy

Galsworthy House Care Home residents in Kingston upon Thames enjoyed there first reminiscence session of the year, this time based on musicals.

Hosted by Tim, he spoke about a number of films which were released between the 1930’s and 1960’s.
“My Fair Lady” with Audrey Hepburn as Eliza Doolittle in 1964, a favourite for many ladies,
“Show Boat” which was released in the 1930’s starring Paul Robeson featured a song called “Old Man River” which Tim played with some of the residents singing and clapping along.
“Oliver” released in 1968 starring Mark Lester,
“Singing In The Rain” 1952 with Gene Kelly and
“Wizard Of Oz” which was released in 1939 but not bought to this country until 1940, starring Julie Garland.

Residents enjoyed an hour of reminiscence watching clips from these and many other movies, we all look forward to seeing what Tim brings with him to the next reminiscence.
