Mill House residents enjoy trip to Broadway Tower

Mill House care home in Chipping Campden, residents recently enjoyed a trip out on 21 March when they visited Broadway Tower, Cotswold’s highest castle and their lovely Morris & Brown Café. At 65 feet high, it has some of the best views in England.

We are very fortunate that Mill House is located in the beautiful Cotswolds area, with landmarks like this within easy travelling distance, and at this time of the year, the fields are full of sheep and baby lambs, who are the main attraction for the tourists and people living in this area as well.

Five of our residents, Hazel, Kath, Molly, Tony and Joan who was accompanied by her daughter Pamela, also a volunteer at Mill House, came along for the trip.

Fortunately, Pam lives just at the bottom of the hill and it takes her only 30 minutes to walk up to the Broadway Tower for coffee and this time she had a chance to have a coffee there with her mum Joan who has lived with us here at Mill house for over 5 years.

Hazel is a new resident at our home and has with for only a few weeks and she met her friends just outside the coffee shop when we arrived.

Everyone had a nice cup of tea or coffee and some of the residents tried some of the delicious homemade shortbread biscuits. We all enjoyed our drinks looking out the window at the beautiful view full of frolicking baby lambs. We even learnt that from the top of the tower, you see up to 16 counties. Amazing!

We all agreed it was a lovely trip out and are looking forward to our next one.

At Mill House care home in Chipping Campden we deliver residential, nursing and dementia care for up to 45 elderly residents in a friendly and supportive environment.

Coronavirus (COVID-19) Update
To Whom it may concern,

RE: A message from the CEO and Clinical Director

At Caring Homes we are following the latest Government advice and stopping visitors to all our homes, except for essential visits by healthcare professionals who will be required to adhere to strict protocols.

We understand that this may be very difficult for families but we are clear in our duty to ensure we protect the health, safety and wellbeing of our Residents and Colleagues as our top priority.

We want you to know that you can contact your loved ones through calls, emails, video and social media and we will support our Residents to view any messages you send over. We are confident that the teams in our homes are doing all they can to ensure that life remains as comfortable and sociable as possible. There will be a full programme of activities delivered by our in-house health and wellbeing teams.

We hope you will understand and support these actions and any further subsequent measures we might need to put in place.

Yours sincerely
